In the ROG world, the biggest hurdle is often the parents’ transition from “recreational” to “competitive” thinking. This consensus addresses that directly.
I. Purpose of the Elite Team
The Elite Team is a specialized track within our academy designed for players who demonstrate not only technical potential but a primary desire to pursue tennis as their lead sport. This is a performance-based group with rigorous standards for entry and retention.
II. The “5-Tournament” Mandate
To remain a member of the Elite Team, the following competitive requirements must be met:
- Minimum Participation: Every player must compete in a minimum of five (5) sanctioned ROG tournaments per 16-week semester.
- Parental Administration: It is the sole responsibility of the parents to register the player for these events, handle logistics, and ensure the player arrives at the designated warm-up time.
- Outcome Focus: Coaches will review the “Match Logs” after each event. The focus is not on winning, but on the application of the specific ROG tactical goals (e.g., “The Hunter” mentality in Orange stage).
III. Eligibility & “Club-Standard” Verification
In alignment with international high-performance standards, our academy reserves the right to perform additional checks before a player is accepted into the Elite Team:
- Technical Evaluation: A mandatory 2-hour assessment by the Head Coach to ensure “Grip Integrity” and “Movement Mechanics” are at a regional competitive level.
- External Club Benchmarking: We conduct research into the standards of other leading international clubs. To be part of this team, players must meet or exceed the fitness and technical benchmarks of our peer “Competing Teams” across the region.
- Behavioral Audit: Review of the player’s focus and “coachability” during the previous semester.
IV. Parental Commitment
By enrolling your child in the Elite Team, you agree to:
- The 24-Hour Rule: Refrain from discussing match results or coaching decisions with the staff until 24 hours after a tournament.
- Logistics Support: Provide the coaching staff with tournament draws and schedules at least 7 days in advance.
- The Long-Term View: Accept that players will stay in their designated ROG ball color until they have mastered the curriculum, regardless of their age or what other clubs may be doing.
| Requirement | Standard |
| Commitment | 5 Tournaments per semester |
| Evaluation | Passed “Elite Technical Review” |
| Comparison | Meets/Exceeds peer club competitive standards |
| Conduct | Signed Parent & Player Code of Conduct |
Acknowledgment: I understand that the Elite Team is a privilege based on effort, competitive participation, and adherence to the ROG methodology. Failure to meet the 5-tournament minimum may result in a transition back to the Developmental Program.
